Shadows

Shadows

The  saying  "Afraid  of  your  own  shadow"  took  on  a  whole  new  meaning  today.  We  took  by  grandson  to  a  local  park,  where  the  children  are  allowed  to  ride  their  bikes  on a   now  abandoned  net  ball  field.  Well  he  never  rode  his  bike,   he  discovered  his  shadow. At  first  he  was  rather  frightened,  and  was trying  to run  away, then  he  was  trying  to  shake  the  shadow  off  his  foot,  but  after  awhile  he was running  with  his  shadow  and  was  having  a  whole  load  of  fun  together.  He  played  with his  shadow  for over  an  hour  before  the  novelty  wore  off.

It  really got  me  wondering  how  often  we  are  afraid  of  something,  how often  we  allow  shadows  to  control  the  situation,  instead  of  learning  to  live  with the  shadow,  how  often  do  we  live  with  our  shadows,  thinking  they  are  to  horrific,  to  devastating,  to  ugly  so  we  hide  in the  darkness.....  where  as  if  we  just  realised  we  are  never  going  to run  away  from  then,  we  are  never  going  to  shake  them  off.........  so  lets  just  learn  to  play  with  them  and  move  on

  1. Hi Karen, it so nice having you drop by for a visit on my blog. It's been a while. I have missed you.
Your grandson and his shadow post is just adorable. The grandkids grow up so fast especially when we haven't seen them for a few months. they They really brighten our world.

We lost our oldest daughter Nicole after a brief illness and I miss her so much still. I'm so glad that I always said I love you to her every time we either email or spoke.

    Take care and stay well.
    Hugs, Julia
